Due to the Covid pandemic external KS4 assessments were not carried out in the summer of 2020 and 2021 and therefore school wide data is not available for these years. Students were awarded Centre or Teacher Assessed Grades that enabled them to progress to the next stage of their education. Given the uneven impact of the pandemic on school and college performance data, the government recommends that we do not make direct comparisons between the performance data for one school or college and another, or to data from the pandemic years.

Destinations

Each autumn local authorities are required by DFE to carry out a survey of all young people who completed compulsory education in the July of that year. The purpose of this survey, often referred to as the Destination Survey, is to find out what students engaged in after leaving Year 11. The activity survey is a snapshot of young people’s destination as at November 1st 2020.

DFE specifies what data is required and how it should be grouped.

Where young people have moved out of the area during Year 11 their destination is recorded where possible but for statistical purposes DFE omits them from the final figures for a local authority. The data is based on the Year 11 cohort at the end of May 2020.
