Moving from Primary School to Secondary School
Admissions for Year 7 September 2024
All parents/carers of all children born between 1 September 2012 and 31 August 2013 must apply for a secondary school placement for them to start school in the academic year September 2024.
Parents/carers can apply for a Year 7 place for September 2024 from 1 September 2023.
All Primary to Secondary Year 7 Applications must be made through the local authority where the child lives.
For children living in Waltham Forest, families must apply via the London Borough of Waltham Forest eAdmissions service.
For children who live outside of the borough may still apply, but will need to use the admissions process for the borough where they live.
National closing day for applications Tuesday 31 October 2022 11:59pm. Applications received by a borough after this deadline are considered late applications.
Before submitting a Year 7 application we strongly recommend all families read the Autumn 2023 edition of the local authorities ‘Starting Secondary School’ guide and find out information about the schools you are interested in. Our borough has a wonderful range of schools to choose between and it is important you find a school that is a good fit for your child. Open evenings can be a really helpful way of learning about schools.
