Update on arrangements for September
I hope that you are all well and enjoying the beautiful weather.
When I wrote to you at the end of term, I explained that we were looking forward to welcoming all students back to school in September - subject to confirmation from updated government guidance in August. I am very pleased to tell you that the government have confirmed that we can open to all years from the start of the Autumn term.
As you are all no doubt aware, the pandemic has not disappeared and it is essential that we all continue to take sensible precautions to minimise the chance of further spread. To this end, it will not be a “normal” start of term with all students returning together in the way that we worked prior to March 23rd. There are certain things we will have to change across the school, both in terms of physical layout and timings and lessons arrangements. What will not change is our commitment to provide the highest quality of care and teaching. We will be working hard from day one to help your child ease back into school life and over time fill any learning gaps.
Over the coming days we will be working hard to make any necessary changes to the school site and planning how we will organise the school day. I will write to you again next week when I aim to share with you the exact start time and date for each year group along with the timings of the school day. I apologise for the further uncertainty and appreciate that, particularly for those of you organising child care commitments, you need to know as soon as possible. Please rest assured that we will share all of this with you at the earliest possible point - once we have safely planned exactly what the return will look like, informed by Government, Local Authority and Public Health England guidance.
Thank you so much for your continuing patience and support.
